Will & Grace Season 5 Episode 19: Sex, Losers, & Videotape
When a tape of Will and Grace making out surfaces, Grace is mortified and Will is amused. The situation worsens when they realise that Karen had inadvertently sent the tape to a charity auction and they must go to great lengths to get it back. Meanwhile, Jack and Karen are once again in cahoots when they create their own music video behind the backs of their friends.
The episode kicks off with Will and Grace enjoying a playful evening at home, which leads to a make-out session. Little do they know, Karen left a video camera on while she was in their apartment and recorded the entire encounter. The next day, Grace receives a call from Karen, who informs her that she accidentally sent a box of donations to the wrong auction- the box that contained the tape.
Panicking, Will and Grace rush to the charity auction in an attempt to retrieve the tape. However, they discover that the auction has already been closed and the box has been sold. When they finally track down the buyer, they discover that he is a pornographic film producer who has already sold the tape to one of his directors.
Comically, Will and Grace then attempt to infiltrate a porn set in order to get the tape back. While they don disguises and try to blend in with the other crew members, they run into Jack who is also on set video taping for an entirely different reason. The four connive their escape and are able to get the tape back.
Meanwhile, Jack and Karen are off on their own adventure. After discovering Grace's music video at a New York club, the two decide to create a music video of their own. They enlist the help of a young musician who is struggling with his own identity and must navigate the complexities of working with an overbearing Karen and a determined Jack.
The episode touches on themes of privacy, sexuality, and identity- all while maintaining its trademark humor and unapologetic commentary on social issues. The chemistry between the cast and their ability to navigate such sensitive topics with grace and levity is what makes 'Will & Grace' such an iconic sitcom.
