Alex Russo, the youngest of the three teenage wizards, has landed herself in trouble again. Her grades are slipping and her parents have hired a tutor to help her catch up. However, Alex is not thrilled about the idea of a tutor and decides to cast a spell to create a fake tutor.

The plan seems to be working perfectly until her parents decide to meet the tutor to check on Alex’s progress. Alex is panicked and has to come up with a way to show her parents that she is improving.

Meanwhile, Max and Justin are busy preparing for the WizTech science fair. They are working on a project about creating a new type of popcorn. Max is convinced that their popcorn is going to win first prize and is determined to beat his rival, Ronald.

As the day of the science fair approaches, Alex’s fake tutor plan starts to unravel. Her parents start to suspect that something is not quite right with the tutor and Alex has to find a way to fix things. With the help of her siblings and some magical intervention, Alex saves the day and manages to convince her parents that she is making significant progress with her studies.

The science fair is a success, and Max and Justin’s project wins first prize. However, Max learns a valuable lesson about being humbled when he realizes that Ronald’s project – a new type of energy source – could actually help save the world.
