Ep 3. Graphic Novel

Alex is back in school and is making a graphic novel about Duchess Lizarathia, a character from her favorite book series. Harper is helping her create the illustrations while Max adds dialogue to the story. The graphic novel is so good that their teacher, Mr. Laritate, decides to include it in an upcoming school book fair.

As soon as Alex finds out, she begins to worry that a fan of the book series might come and find out that the graphic novel is not the same as the actual story and that they might not like it. She decides that she needs to make the graphic novel more realistic. To do this, she uses a spell to bring the Duchess to life and into her world.

The spell works, and the Duchess tells Alex that she wants to meet the author of the book series so that she can thank her for creating her character. Alex decides to take the Duchess to meet the author, but they soon learn that the author, H.J. Darling, is a recluse and has not been seen in public for years.

Determined to meet the author, Alex uses magic to transport herself and the Duchess into H.J. Darling's home. They soon discover that H.J. Darling is actually an old lady who has been living alone for years. She is surprised to see the Duchess and is even more surprised when Alex explains that the character is from a graphic novel that she created.

H.J. Darling is thrilled with the graphic novel and even asks Alex if she can use some of the illustrations for her next book. Alex agrees and is thrilled that she was able to help H.J. Darling come out of hiding.

However, when they attempt to return to their world, they find that the spell that brought the Duchess to life is still active and that she cannot go back to the book. Alex and Harper try to figure out how to reverse the spell, but they soon discover that it can only be broken by the author of the book series.

They decide to sneak into the book fair and ask H.J. Darling to help them break the spell. H.J. Darling is hesitant at first, but she eventually agrees to help them. They attempt a spell to break the original spell, but it appears that it did not work.

Just as they were beginning to lose hope, they see a child at the book fair who is reading the graphic novel. The child points out a mistake that Alex made in the graphic novel, and suddenly the spell is broken.

The Duchess disappears back into the book, and Alex and Harper are left relieved and grateful. H.J. Darling decides to make an appearance at the book fair, and the graphic novel becomes the best-selling item at the school. Alex, Harper, and Max all sign copies of the book, and Alex is happy that her creation has become so popular. The episode ends with Alex realizing the true power of her magic and the importance of using it for good.
