Tom is devastated by the council's decision and decides to take matters into his own hands. He sneaks into the council's headquarters and learns that they have a powerful magical artifact called the 'Talisman of Mericulus,' which can protect them from the Nekross.

Tom and Benny hatch a plan to steal the talisman and use it to protect themselves and their families. They sneak into the council's vault, but things go wrong when the Nekross arrive and catch them in the act. The episode ends with Tom and Benny captured by the Nekross, who seem to have some sinister plans for them.
