Alien vs. Predator

Alien vs.? ?Predator is about an exploration team that gets caught in a war between the creatures of the Alien and Predator film franchises.? ?Although the plot does not merge the those of the two films,? ?it incorporates highly notable elements from each film that make it a recognizable crossover.? ?This is mainly presented through the exploration team,? ?which is the main element that guides us through the story.? ?Leading the team is a company by the name of Weyland Industries,? ?which implies that the events of Alien vs.? ?Predator precede that of Alien since the company featured in that film is a merged corporation entitled Weyland-Yutani.? ?This makes the film both a prequel to Alien and an original crossover with the Predator franchise.

The exploration team investigates a pyramid that Weyland Industries picked up on its satellites and they discover numerous writings and symbols on the walls. As they uncover more about the structure, they learn more about its origins. As more and more team members are trapped and killed, the team realizes that the structure is a hunting ground for the Predators and that the humans were being used to breed their prey: the Aliens. Caught in the middle of a war, the remaining survivor Alexa picks a side to prevent the war from affecting people elsewhere in the world. This serves as a twist that fans of neither franchise would expect, since it is out of character for Predators to team up with their prey (as seen in the original 1987 Predator film).

Utilizing special effects and incorporating an original story not expected from fans of the Alien and Predator franchises, the film serves as both a unique science fiction experience and an interesting addition to the two sagas. Since the plots from both sagas are unused, the film can be watched by anyone who just wants to enjoy a science-fiction film.
