Ep 10. Black Light Attack!

In season 4 episode 10 of 30 Rock, titled "Black Light Attack!", Liz Lemon is stuck working on the promotional commercial for the upcoming episode of TGS during a citywide black-out. In order to salvage the promotional material, she resorts to using a black light to give it a "cool" effect, but things go awry when she realizes that the undergarments worn by the cast and crew are suddenly visible under the black light. With the help of her team, Liz attempts to cover up the embarrassing incident before it can be seen by the network executives.

Meanwhile, Jack Donaghy must deal with his own crisis when a former flame, Nancy Donovan (played by Julianne Moore), returns to his life and confesses that she has breast cancer. Although Jack and Nancy's rekindled relationship starts off on a positive note, their opposing political views make it difficult for them to move forward. Throughout the episode, Jack must navigate his complicated feelings for Nancy while trying to stay true to his beliefs.

Tracy Jordan and Jenna Maroney also deal with their own personal dramas in "Black Light Attack!". Tracy becomes paranoid when he starts seeing a black widow spider around the studio, and enlists the help of Kenneth Parcell to get rid of it. Meanwhile, Jenna is dealing with the fallout of an ill-advised costume choice during a previous episode of TGS, which has caused her to become the target of ridicule among her peers.

As always, the episode is packed with witty one-liners, zany hijinks, and spot-on parodies of the television industry. With its sharp writing and talented cast, "Black Light Attack!" is a hilarious and heartwarming addition to the 30 Rock canon.
