Ep 4. Priest Gun/Haunted Asylum

In Haunted Collector season 2 episode 4 titled "Priest Gun/Haunted Asylum," paranormal investigator John Zaffis and his team visit a historic asylum in Central New York that has a long and dark history. The asylum was built in the 19th century to house the mentally ill and later became a tuberculosis ward during the 20th century. Visitors have reported sounds of footsteps, voices, and strange shadows throughout the building, leading Zaffis and his team to believe that the asylum is haunted.

Zaffis and his team set up their equipment to capture any paranormal activity they can find. They start by exploring the upper floors of the building, where they believe they can find the most activity. While investigating, they use a thermal imaging camera to detect any unusual heat sources and an electromagnetic field detector to measure any fluctuations in the electromagnetic field. They also take note of any unusual movements, noises, or sights that they encounter, as these might be important pieces of evidence.

As they continue their investigation, they discover a mysterious room that has been locked for years. The room was once used for electroshock therapy, which was a common treatment for mental illness during the mid-20th century. Zaffis and his team open the door and find a collection of metal objects inside, including a gun that was once wielded by a Catholic priest who used it to perform exorcisms on patients in the asylum. The priest believed that the gun held special powers and could keep evil spirits at bay.

Zaffis takes the gun back to his museum of haunted objects, where he can study its history and any potential paranormal activity associated with it. He believes that the gun might have been used in some sort of ritual or ceremony and could be holding on to the energy of past patients who were subjected to electroshock therapy. Additionally, Zaffis and his team collect other objects from the asylum that they believe might be haunted, including a wheelchair and a straightjacket.

Over the course of the investigation, Zaffis and his team encounter several strange occurrences. They hear unexplained noises coming from empty rooms, notice objects moving on their own, and feel a persistent chill in the air. One of the more eerie experiences happens when Zaffis's colleague, Brian, is conducting an EVP session in one of the patient rooms. He hears a voice whisper "I'm here" in response to his questions, even though there is nobody else in the room with him.

Ultimately, Zaffis and his team think that the asylum is one of the most haunted places they have ever visited. They believe that the spirits of past patients and staff members still linger in the building, and that the objects they collected during their investigation are conduits for this energy. While it's unclear exactly what happened in the asylum over the years, Zaffis and his team hope that their investigation sheds light on the dark history of this abandoned institution.
