Ep 5. Escaping the In-Laws

In this episode of Property Brothers, titled "Escaping the In-Laws," homeowners Grace and Justin are feeling cramped in their small home that they share with Grace's parents. They start by reconfiguring the layout of the main living space to create a more open-concept floor plan. They also update the kitchen with brand new cabinets, countertops, and appliances. One of the biggest updates they make is to the backyard, which was previously just a patch of grass. They transform it into a beautiful outdoor oasis complete with a deck, seating area, and fire pit.

As Jonathan works on the renovations, Drew helps Grace and Justin navigate the homebuying process. They run into a bit of a snag when it comes to getting the home inspection done, but Drew is able to help negotiate a solution that works for everyone. With the inspection complete and the renovations finished, Grace and Justin finally get to move into their new home.

The episode ends with a reveal of the finished home, and Grace and Justin are thrilled with the end result. They have plenty of space to entertain their friends and family, and love their new outdoor area.
