Ep 3. Chasing the Suburban Dream

In season 9 episode 3 of Property Brothers, titled "Chasing the Suburban Dream," viewers meet Karen and Todd, a couple who have been living in a cramped condo in the city and are seeking a more spacious and comfortable suburban home. But with Todd's new job on the outskirts of town and Karen's desire for a larger kitchen, they need the help of the Property Brothers to make their dream of a suburban home a reality.

As the episode begins, Karen and Todd take the brothers on a tour of their current condo, pointing out the cramped spaces and lack of storage. The couple is hoping that the Property Brothers can help them find a spacious home with a big kitchen, a backyard for their dogs, and a short commute for Todd's new job.

After the initial tour, the brothers take Karen and Todd to see three different suburban homes that they think might work for them. The first home is a spacious ranch-style house with a large backyard and plenty of potential for upgrades. Karen is excited about the potential for a big kitchen, but Todd is less enthusiastic about the long commute he would have to make to work from this location.

The second home is a two-story house with a modern feel and plenty of space for entertaining. Karen and Todd love the open concept kitchen and living area, but are concerned about the lack of privacy in the backyard, as well as the distance from Todd's new job.

The third home is a beautifully updated split-level home with a small backyard but plenty of indoor space. Karen and Todd are impressed with the updates, but they're not sure if the house has enough space for their dogs and they worry about the commute.

After touring the three homes, the Property Brothers sit down with Karen and Todd to discuss their options. The brothers explain that they could renovate any of the homes to make them more functional, but that one of the homes in particular has great potential. They urge Karen and Todd to consider the proximity of the home to Todd's job, and to think about the long-term viability of the house.

Ultimately, Karen and Todd make a decision about which home to purchase. After the purchase is made, the brothers get to work on renovating the home to make it a perfect fit for the couple's needs. They knock down walls, install new flooring, and create a stunning open-concept kitchen and living area.

With the renovations complete, Karen and Todd finally get to see their dream home come to life. They marvel at the space, the storage, and the beautiful design elements that the Property Brothers have created. And best of all, they're able to enjoy their new home knowing that they're living in the perfect neighborhood with a short commute and plenty of space for their dogs and entertaining guests.
