Ep 2. True Lies

Elena wakes up after a terrifying car accident, realizing that she was trapped underwater. Stefan and Damon believe that she is having a post-traumatic experience, but Elena knows that what she saw was real and not just a nightmare. While Stefan and Elena work together to uncover the truth behind the car accident, Damon is busy trying to keep a secret from Elena.

Meanwhile, Silas and Nadia continue their search for Katherine, who is still on the run. They enlist the help of a new vampire named Jesse, who has been turned into a vampire against his will. Jesse is trying to come to terms with his new life and the fact that he killed his best friend while in transition. Silas sees an opportunity to use Jesse in his quest to get to Katherine, but Jesse has plans of his own.

Bonnie, who is still on the Other Side, is struggling to come to terms with her new powers as a ghost. She enlists the help of Grams to try to figure out how to control her powers and find a way back to the land of the living. Meanwhile, Jeremy is trying to keep Bonnie's secret from the rest of the group, but he is finding it harder and harder to keep up the charade.

As the group continues to deal with their own personal struggles, a new threat emerges in the form of a mysterious girl who seems to have the power to control vampires. The group must work together to figure out who she is and what her intentions are before it's too late.

As the episode comes to a close, the group realizes that they may have underestimated their new enemy. With Elena still struggling to come to terms with what she saw in the car accident, the group must remain vigilant to protect themselves and their loved ones from this new threat.
