Anne Marie comes across something disgusting and takes it out to the beach to find the players who were in the room. She embarrasses one of them which causes her to lose her job. After she has lost her job, Anne Marie starts to teach the guys how to surf in her spare time. She will become romantically involved with one of them. After she becomes close with one of them she attends a banquet that honors the football guys. While at the banquet she over hears some girls talking in the bathroom about her and her dress. It is then insinuated that the football player likes a specific type of girl and she is just that type of girl. Anne Marie decides that it is time to focus once again on nothing but surfing and starts to blow off the football player. The movie will shift once again to the love of surfing and will move onto the competition. Anne Marie must face her fears. She must face the big wave in order to fully overcome her fear.
