Echo of Thunder

Simon Wincer directed this entertaining film based on the book, Thunderwith. The movie concerns a husband and wife named Larry and Gladwyn Ritchie, residing with their young children on a lonely tree farm in the rugged Australian Outback. They endure numerous difficulties and Mrs. Ritchie sometimes finds her life exceedingly challenging indeed. However, events grow more complicated when an unexpected visitor arrives to live with them, following a tragic death. Judy Davis received an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Gladwyn Ritchie, the struggling farm wife and mother. The cast also includes excellent performances by Lauren Hewitt and Jamey Sheridan.
