Escape to Victory

Victory is an action sports film that was released in 1981. The film follows a group of American prisoners of war who are being held in Nazi occupied France during the Second World War. The group of soldiers is forced to participate in a soccer game against Nazi soldiers in order to show that the German soldiers are far superior to the Americans. The group of American soldiers trains in order to beat the Germans during the game. At the same time the Allied top brass make plans to rescue the soldiers during the game. This eventually leads to the soldiers putting off their escape plans in order to gain victory, and they then go about the process of escaping back to Britain. Victory was directed by John Huston. The film was written by Yabo Yablonsky, Djordje Milicevic, Jeff Maguire, and Evan Jones. The film features an all-star cast of Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone, and world famous footballer Pelé.
