Chuck Norris is one of the most iconic action stars of all time, and one of his more underrated movies is 1986's Firewalker. Co-starring Louis Gossett Jr. and Melody Anderson, the film is a fun, enjoyable adventure that takes Norris to exotic locales and pits him against a variety of foes. The film opens with Max Donigan (Norris) and Leo Porter (Gossett) working as treasure hunters in Central America. They're not exactly successful, but they get by thanks to Max's scrappy attitude and Leo's intelligence. In one of the film's early scenes, Max fights off a handful of attackers using his fists and his quick wit, setting the stage for the action-packed ride to come.

Their luck changes when a beautiful woman named Patricia Goodwin (Anderson) hires them to help her find a long-lost Aztec city called Zioxla. The city is said to be filled with treasure, and Patricia believes she can find it with Max and Leo's help. The three of them set out across the desert, dodging traps and facing off against dangerous foes along the way.

One of the things that sets Firewalker apart from other action movies of the era is its great sense of humor. The banter between Max and Leo is enjoyable throughout, with Gossett in particular standing out as the brains of the duo. There's a great scene where Max and Leo have their heads shaved and are forced to wear Aztec clothing, and the two of them are constantly bickering and trading insults while they're on the trail of the treasure.

Of course, the action is still the main draw of the film, and there are plenty of fights and chase scenes to keep audiences engaged. Whether Max is taking on a group of soldiers in a fiery temple or Leo is using his rifle to pick off enemies from afar, there's always something exciting happening on screen. The film's climax is particularly memorable, as Max and Leo face off against a group of villains in a high-octane shootout.

Firewalker may not be as well-known as some of Chuck Norris's other movies, but it's a true gem of the action-adventure genre. It's got great performances from its cast, thrilling action sequences, and a sense of humor that keeps things light and enjoyable throughout. It's definitely worth seeking out for any fan of '80s action movies.

Firewalker is a 1986 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 44 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.1 and a MetaScore of 37.
