Lethal Weapon 3
When Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) respond to a bomb call, the last thing Roger wants to do is to get close to the bomb, especially with only 8 days to retirement. Riggs has other things on his mind though, and the two homicide detectives go nosing around the bomb anyway. After failing to disarm the bomb, and causing the destruction of the entire building, both detectives are busted down to beat cops again. What should have been an opportunity to stay out of trouble, ended up in a chase between armored cars, with Riggs hanging on for dear life from the back of the truck. With 6 days left for Murtaugh to retire, the pair has stumbled upon some armor piercing bullets from the armored car heist, and they have their detective status returned to them. Before they are able to interrogate the suspect with the bullets, another detective walks in and puts three in him. Riggs, Murtaugh and Leo (Joe Pesci) go in search for the shooter, Jack Travis (Stuart Wilson), but he gets away after shooting Leo. Travis is a cop gone bad, and a desire to make some money selling guns, causing internal affairs Lorna Cole (Rene Russo) to get involved in the case. At a local hamburger stand, Murtaugh is creating his own hamburger, as Riggs and the owner of the stand watch. Riggs is distracted by a shady deal and goes over to investigate. As he identifies himself, shots are fired and Murtaugh runs to his assistance. When the shooting stops, Murtaugh has emptied his gun into the side of a shed, which results in a young kid being killed on the other side. Roger is visibly shaken when he recognizes that it is his sons friend. Richard Donner directs this action packed thriller, which has supporting roles by Darlene Love as Trish Murtaugh and Damon Hines as Nick Murtaugh.
