In the movie Nothing Personal, we are introduced to two hitmen from Belfast, who are sent by their boss to kill a man in England. The two hitmen, Frank and Harry, played by Ian Hart and John Lynch respectively, have a complicated relationship that is put to the test throughout the film. While Frank is more business-like and efficient, Harry is more emotional and impulsive, which often puts them at odds with each other.

Their mission becomes increasingly difficult when they arrive in England and realize that their target is a priest. The hitmen are hesitant to kill a man of the cloth, but their boss gives them no choice. As they plot their attack, they involve a group of local thugs, led by James Frain's character, in their plan. The thugs provide the hitmen with weapons and help them locate the priest, but things quickly unravel as tensions rise between the two groups.

The film is set in the early 1990s when the conflict in Northern Ireland was at its height. This backdrop adds a layer of complexity to the story, as we see how the violence and aggression of the conflict have spilled over into other parts of the UK. We see this in the way that Frank and Harry are constantly on edge, never sure who they can trust, and how they view the people they encounter with suspicion and fear.

The film is beautifully shot, with many scenes taking place in moody, atmospheric locations, such as abandoned warehouses and dark alleys. The use of lighting and shadow adds to the sense of tension and danger in the film, as we see the world through the eyes of these two hitmen who exist on the fringes of society.

The acting in Nothing Personal is superb, particularly from Ian Hart and John Lynch, who embody their characters with a sense of authenticity and nuance. We get a sense of the deep bond between these two men, but also of the cracks that have formed over time. James Frain also stands out as the leader of the local thugs, bringing a sense of menace and unpredictability to his character that keeps us on the edge of our seats.

Overall, Nothing Personal is a gripping thriller that explores themes of loyalty, trust, and violence in a way that is both thought-provoking and entertaining. The film is a masterpiece of storytelling and filmmaking, and is not to be missed. Whether you are a fan of crime movies, historical dramas, or just great cinema in general, Nothing Personal is sure to satisfy.
