The film starts with Jake Lo studying at an art institute in Chicago, where he is trying to make the most of his life after escaping the traumatic murder of his father in Hong Kong. Although he is a natural-born fighter, Jake is trying to move away from the violent street life he left behind and focus on his art. Realizing that he is in grave danger, Jake contacts the FBI and is taken into protective custody. However, when he realizes that the FBI can't protect him from the ruthless mafia, he decides to take matters into his own hands. With the help of FBI agent Mace Ryan (Powers Boothe), who becomes his reluctant ally, Jake sets out to uncover the mystery behind the murder and bring the criminal mastermind behind it to justice. Together, they embark on a thrilling action-packed adventure that takes them through the streets of Chicago, Hong Kong, and Taipei. As they get closer to discovering the truth behind the murder, Jake and Mace are forced to face off against a brutal gang of mafia hitmen, led by the cunning and ruthless Kinman Tau (Nick Mancuso).
