Combine the elements of comedy, science fiction and space travel all together and you have the winning combination in a package known as 'Spaceballs'. 'Spaceballs' was written by Mel Brooks and pokes hilarious fun at the space and science fiction genre in this send up of the genres. Featuring a stellar cast which includes Rick Morannis, Bill Pullman, John Candy, Mel Brooks, Daphne Zuniga and Joan Rivers, 'Spaceballs' goes where no man really wants to go. However, the laughs that ensue proves it was a good idea to go there anyway. Despite being a spoof the storyline is pretty unique in its delivery. Our story begins with Princess Vespa, reluctantly walking down the aisle to tie the not with Prince Valium. Despite the fact that he is the last prince in the galaxy our princess just can't bring herself to do it and runs out on her wedding. Quickly making her escape in her Mercedes cruiser to the stars Princess Vespa is heading for a good bit of trouble. Across the galaxy we find our hero Lonestar and his sidekick Barf cruising in their Winnebago. What's so great about Barf is that he is a 'Mog', half man half dog and he is his own best friend. Lonestar finds himself in trouble as he tries to pay back his loan to Pizza, the Hut the local gangster and loan shark of the galaxy. Just as he wonders where he'll get one million space bucks Lonestar receives a call from King Roland, princess Vespa's father and agrees to track the princess in exchange for the money he needs. Little does Lonestar know that his mortal enemy, Dark Helmet, is this minute trying to kidnap the princess so he can ransom her to her father for the code to Druidia's shield. Helmet plans on stealing all of Druidia's fresh air for his own planet and needs the Druish princess to pull it off. Throw in the desert dinks and Yogurt and you have a hysterical winner.
