The Art of Love

The Art of Love is a 1965 comedy. The all star cast includes James Garner, Dick Van Dyke, Elke Sommer and Angie Dickinson. Ethel Merman and Carl Reiner also make appearances in the movie. Reiner was also one of the co-writers of the movie. The story centers on a young American artist (Van Dyke) living in Paris. He decides to fake his death in order to increase the value of his paintings. He is duped by his buddy James Garner, Garner is actually selling the paintings without Van Dyke knowing. Sommer and Dickenson play the eye candy in the movie. It is a funny movie that raises a few serious questions about the art world.
