Goldie Hawn and Susan Sarandon team up in this film. As middle aged women, the pair reconnects in a rather unceremonious way and discover that they do not have as much in common as they did in high school. Life dealt a very different hand to the women who went in drastically different directions after graduation. Sarandon's character established her family and an executive job which altered her values into a significantly more superficial version of her former self. After some brief tension, Hawn's character is able to reunite her former best friend with the fun loving inner child that once existed.

The rites of passage and midlife crisis that are typically addressed from a serious standpoint are hilariously explored in The Banger Sisters.
