Two dedicated politicians, Russell and Cantwell, are competing against each other trying to win their party's nomination for the Presidency. Both have major skeletons in their closets and are trying to keep them from emerging at the wrong time. While at the nominating convention, they each seek the support of fellow politicians and of a former President. Both men use their dirtiest political tricks to shame the other, all the time trying to appear squeaky clean to the delegates and the public.
