English aristocrats, the Earl and Countess of Ryhall are forced to begin giving guided tours around their estate to stave off the financial problems they have. An American oil tycoon is one of the first guests they welcome, with the American and the Countess quickly feeling a sense of attraction. The Earl invites the American to stay in the house and is shocked to discover he is accompanied by the Earl's former girlfriend, each relationship becomes strained as new and old attractions come to the surface.
