The film The Guard starring Brendan Gleeson, Liam Cunningham, and Don Cheadle is directed by John Michael McDonagh. The film was released in the Sundance Film Festival in January 20 of 2011 and was later released in Ireland later on in July. The film uses both Irish and English languages and was intended to be a comedy action type of movie. The Guard is Ireland's most successful movie of all time according to Wikipedia.

The film follows Boyle played by Brendan Gleeson who's an unorthodox Garda. Boyle decides to join the forces with a strait laced FBI-agent who's also an American Federal police with the name Everett. He was plated by Don Cheadle. The two agents need to take on this international drug-smuggling gang that is from Ireland's Connemara Gaeltacht.

There has been a murder that appears to be the workings of an creepy serial killer. These happenings are then revealed by Boyle at a briefing of an FBI agent who was sent to go to the liaise along with Gardai. A web of a bribery, killings and other blackmails then are ensued. Boyle and Everett then decide to form a quite unlikely alliance to bring about this bloody climax.

Will the unlikely heroes find the main killer or will they windup disappointing one another by not finding the master mind behind the criminal acts? Boyle and Everett may be two very different people with different backgrounds, but they have one main thing in common, which is to help find the bad guy.
