Neither knows that their innocent affair has stirred up accusations in Farrow's headquarters in London, and at the Russian Embassy in Paris where Feodor is stationed. The heads of both intelligence operations are convinced their meeting was pre-arranged. As the relationship deepens, the two visit the island's museum, where Judith learns the romantic island tradition of pledging love with a Tamarind Seed. But when Judith learns he is to be executed, she warns him. They decide to run off together to a corner of the world where no one can find them. Feodor is to meet Judith in Barbados, but something goes terribly wrong and a bomb demolishes the bungalow where he is staying. Devastated, Judith returns to London to try and pick up the pieces.
