Time After Time is an adventure comedy film that was first released in 1979. The film features H.G. Wells, who attempts to capture Jack the Ripper, who has managed to use the author’s time machine to travel into the twentieth century. Jack the Ripper goes on a murderous rampage from London to San Francisco and attempts to toy with his hunter. H.G. Wells eventually pursues the killer through a number of different chapters in history. Time After Time is based on two stories that were written by Karl Alexander and Steve Hayes. The screenplay for Time After Time was written by Nicholas Meyer. The film was directed by Nicholas Meyer. The character H.G. Wells is played by Malcolm McDowell who also stared in A Clockwork Orange and Halloween. The character Jack the Ripper is named Stevenson, and is played by David Warner. It also features a performance by Mary Steenburgen.
