Wired

"For John Belushi, every night was Saturday night."

Wired is a comedy drama documentary that was released in 1989. The film involves the ghost of John Belushi reviewing his life after his death. At the same time, Bob Woodward goes about the process of researching the life of Belushi for a book that he is writing about the late actor. John Belushi has to stumble through a combination of the present and the past in order to discover what he has done with his life, and how persons are dealing with his passing. Belushi is confronted with issues such as his drug problem, his relationship with his family, and the adoration of his many fans. The combination of Belushi’s feelings on his life, and the conclusions that Bob Woodward makes about them, are very much different than each other. This leads the viewer having to decide which narrative is a better representation of the legacy of Belushi.

Wired was directed by Larry Peerce, and adapted into a movie by Earl Mac Rauch. It is based off of a book that was written by the real Bob Woodward. The film features performances by Michael Chiklis, Ray Sharkey, and J.T. Walsh.
