Ep 1. Honey, We're Home!

In the first episode of A Very Brady Renovation season 1, titled "Honey, We're Home!", the six stars of the classic 1970s sitcom "The Brady Bunch" reunite on-screen for the first time in more than a decade to help renovate the iconic house used in the show's exteriors. Over six weeks, the Brady kids, now all grown up, work alongside HGTV's expert design team to transform the real-life house in Studio City, California, into a near-replica of the sets viewers remember from the beloved family sitcom.

The episode kicks off with a tour of the newly-purchased property, as the "Brady siblings" marvel at the chance to walk around the home that had previously only existed in their imaginations. It's a fitting way to start the season, as the house was purchased with the specific promise that no changes would be made to its exterior, meaning all of the work done by the HGTV renovation team will have to fit inside the preexisting shell. As such, the demo work is surprisingly extensive, as the Bradys watch excitedly while the carpenters tear down walls, ceilings, and floors to open up the space and allow more natural light into the home.

Through it all, the Bradys are exceedingly charming, doling out anecdotes and jokes as they reminisce about their time on set. They point out small details of the house—the layout of the kitchen, the location of the sliding glass doors—that they remember from various episodes, and marvel at how different the space looks without set lights, cameras, and actors. At one point, they even break out the original floor plan from the show and compare it to their current surroundings.

Of course, it wouldn't be an HGTV renovation show without some expert input, and the design team is on hand to guide both the Bradys and the viewer through the process. They explain how they plan to modernize the house without losing its classic 1970s feel, and offer up suggestions for how to update the space while maintaining the Brady Bunch's signature style. It's a delicate balance to strike, but the team seems up to the challenge—and everyone involved is thrilled at the opportunity to truly bring the Brady home to life.

As the episode winds down, the team has made significant progress, with many of the demolished walls now replaced by open-air spaces and natural light. The Brady kids are excited for what's to come, while the HGTV team is clearly energized by the presence of their special guests. It's a winning collaboration, and if this first episode is any indication, A Very Brady Renovation is sure to delight fans of the original show while bringing a new audience to the iconic Brady family.
