Ep 10. Addicted to the Outdoors - Deer Week - 2019

As the 2019 deer hunting season begins, host Jon and his wife, Gina, head to Texas to hunt with outfitter Cody Friedrichs. The couple arrives at the camp and immediately hit the blind for an evening hunt. At first, the weather does not cooperate, but soon the deer start moving. It is not long before Jon finds himself with his first Texas whitetail of the year. The next day, Gina gets her chance and takes an impressive buck with a long shot.

Later in the week, Jon swaps out his rifle for his bow in hopes of taking a mature Texas buck at close range. The action is slow, but persistence pays off, and Jon scores on a beautiful 10-point buck. Meanwhile, Gina continues to hunt with her rifle and connects on another big buck.

Although the hunting has been productive so far, Jon and Gina have their sights set on bigger bucks. They move to a different area of the ranch in search of mature, trophy deer. Jon quickly spots a big-bodied buck with a wide rack, and the chase is on. After some tense moments, Jon takes the monster deer with a well-placed shot.

As the week draws to a close, the couple reflects on their time in Texas and the success they have had. But the hunting is not over yet. Back home in South Carolina, Jon sets his sights on taking a mature southern whitetail with his bow. After several close calls, Jon gets a shot at a beautiful 8-point buck and makes a perfect shot to take the deer.

As the episode wraps up, Jon and Gina reflect on the incredible 2019 hunting season and the memories they have made in the field.
