In the fifth episode of the fifth season of Adventure Time with Finn and Jake, titled "All the Little People," Finn and Jake stumble upon a magic cube in the forest. Upon closer inspection, they discover that the cube contains little figurines that resemble various inhabitants of the Land of Ooo. Using the cube, they can manipulate the figurines and observe their interactions with one another in a miniature world contained within the cube.
Excited by this newfound power, Finn and Jake begin to play with the figurines, creating scenarios and watching as the little people interact with one another. Soon, however, their actions have unintended consequences as their manipulation of the figurines begins to impact the lives of real inhabitants of the Land of Ooo.
As Finn and Jake play with the cube, they start to become more invested in the lives of the little people, and begin to feel a sense of power over them. Finn becomes obsessed with a figurine named Tiny Finn, living out his own insecurities and frustrations through the miniature version of himself. Meanwhile, Jake becomes enthralled with a figurine named Tiny Jake, who he believes to be the coolest little guy in the cube.
As their obsession with the miniature world intensifies, Finn and Jake begin to neglect their real-world responsibilities. Finn forgets his date with Flame Princess, while Jake shirks his duties as a father to his puppies. Soon, the consequences of their actions within the cube begin to come to fruition, and Finn and Jake must face the very real consequences of their actions.
"All the Little People" is a poignant exploration of power dynamics and the impact of our actions on others. Through the allegory of the cube and its miniature inhabitants, the episode explores the dangers of obsession and the importance of responsibility. As always, Adventure Time manages to blend humor, heart, and social commentary into a truly unique and entertaining package. Fans of the show will not want to miss this standout episode of the fifth season.
