Aerial Britain season 1 episode 1 titled "Southern England" takes viewers on a breathtaking journey over the rolling hills, stunning coastlines and bustling cities of one of the most picturesque regions in the UK. The episode highlights the immense beauty of Southern England from a bird's eye view, with stunning visuals and informative commentary.

The show starts with a bird's eye view of the stunning countryside of the South Downs National Park. The viewer is taken on a journey over the stunning landscape of the chalk hills which contain ancient monuments like the Stonehenge and the Hill Fort in Danebury. As the drone sweeps over the landscape, we get a chance to witness the unique flora and fauna of the region including the orchids, butterflies and the rare and elusive skylarks.

As the drone moves east, it traverses the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, providing us with a stunning view of the historic landmark from above. The shots of the blue expanse of the English Channel and the cliffy coastline are breathtaking, and one can almost feel the wind and smell the salt in the air. We also get a chance to witness the busiest passenger port in the world and see how British ports function amidst the modern age of transportation.

The next stop, Sussex, immerses viewers in the history of the region known for its Roman villas, medieval castles, and grand Georgian estates. The camera takes us aerial photos of Chichester which was originally a Roman settlement, and that houses impressive buildings, including a cathedral and a castle.

The show then moves on to Portsmouth, home to the biggest Royal Navy Base. Here, the drone captures massive warships and aircraft carriers docked in the harbor, and we get a glimpse of the day-to-day life of the people that live in the naval city. Alongside this military heritage, the segment highlights the area's natural beauty and its famous seafront.

As the show moves along to the South East of England, we get to see the natural splendor of the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, dotted with landlocked waterbodies and wooded areas. The drone takes us over the green hills of the Weald to the castle ruins of Bodiam and then west to Rye, with its cobbled streets, medieval castle and historic church of St Mary’s.

Finally, the episode ends by taking us to the region's largest and perhaps, the most famous city, the cultural hub of Brighton. The drones capture stunning views of the city's iconic landmarks, including the Brighton Pier, Brighton pavilion, and the famous beach. We get to see how this bustling, colourful seaside town has transformed over the years through a unique combination of the traditional and modern planning.
