Alan Partridge's Mid-Morning Matters Season 2 Episode 1 Episode 1

  • February 16, 2016

In the first episode of season 2 of Alan Partridge's Mid-Morning Matters, we find Alan settling into his role as the host of North Norfolk Digital's mid-morning show. As always, he is accompanied by his trusty sidekick, Simon, who is there to help him navigate the challenges of live radio.

The episode kicks off with Alan taking calls from listeners and discussing a range of topics, from the price of milk to the appropriateness of wearing shorts to work. Of course, no mid-morning show would be complete without a few oddballs ringing in, and Alan handles them all with his trademark wit and charm.

But it's not just the phone lines that Alan has to contend with - he also has to deal with the show's unstable producer, Susannah, who is constantly interrupting with urgent messages and technical difficulties. Despite her best efforts, however, Alan soldiers on, determined to deliver a smooth and professional broadcast.

Along the way, we get a glimpse into some of Alan's personal struggles, as well as his bizarre hobbies and interests. For example, we learn that he has been banned from the local leisure centre after an incident involving a foam roller, and that he has been collecting samples of his bodily fluids for years in the hopes of one day creating a "genetic archive."

Despite his quirks and foibles, however, Alan remains a lovable and endearing character, and the show is a hilarious and entertaining look at the world of local radio. Whether you're a die-hard Alan Partridge fan or just looking for a good laugh, this episode is sure to deliver.
