Law & Order: UK is a British version of the American Law & Order series. The first season of shows was based on scripts from the American series. The scripts had to be modified mostly to match the legal system of the United Kingdom. For instance, there are no district attorneys. Prosecutors are part of the UK system, but they are part of the Crown Prosecutors Service. None of them are elected by the people. They have to wear wigs and a uniform. The scripts definitely had to be changed to fit the unique UK legal system.

Each episode did fit the formula of the American series. The police are at the heart of the first half of the episode. The prosecutors are at the heart of the second half of the show. The show has lasted 8 seasons so far and has lost and gained cast members just like the original series.

Law & Order: UK is a Drama, Crime series that is currently running and has 8 seasons (66 episodes). The series first aired on February 23, 2009. It has moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.5.
