Ep 3. In The Dark

In The Dark is the third episode of Angel, the spin-off series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The episode aired on October 19th, 1999. In this episode, Angel is hired to retrieve a stolen ring that holds immense power. The ring belongs to a wealthy man named Russell Winters, who also happens to be a vampire.

Angel takes the case, but things quickly take a turn for the worse. When he goes to Winters' mansion to retrieve the ring, he is attacked by a group of vampires. He manages to escape with the ring, but not before he is severely beaten.

Meanwhile, Cordelia is having her own problems. She is getting ready for a date with a wealthy and successful businessman named Trevor Lockley (who just happens to be Kate's cousin). Cordelia has been trying to hide her humble beginnings from Trevor, but her past catches up with her when she discovers that he is a former Sunnydale High student. Trevor remembers Cordelia as the shallow and self-centered girl she once was and she is embarrassed by her past behavior.

As the episode progresses, it becomes clear that the ring is not just any piece of jewelry. It has the power to turn vampires into humans (something that Angel desperately wants). Winters is determined to get the ring back, and he is willing to do anything to make that happen.

Angel and Cordelia team up with a vampire named Whistler, who appeared in the Buffy season 2 finale. Whistler tells Angel and Cordelia that they need to get the ring to Sunnydale, where Buffy and her friends can help them destroy it. They set out on a road trip to Sunnydale, but Winters' minions are hot on their trail.

The episode reaches a dramatic climax as Angel, Cordelia, and Whistler fight to keep the ring out of the wrong hands. In the end, they succeed in destroying the ring (with a little help from Buffy and her friends).

Overall, In The Dark is an exciting episode that sets up the mythology of Angel's world.
