Animal Cops: Houston Season 3 Episode 7 Helpless Horses

  • March 29, 2005

In Animal Cops: Houston season 3 episode 7, titled Helpless Horses, viewers are taken on a heartbreaking journey as the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) receives a call about neglected and malnourished horses in a rural part of Houston. The team at the SPCA, including investigator Debbie Michielson, heads out to the location to investigate the allegations of animal cruelty.

Upon arrival, the team finds several horses in deplorable conditions – thin, hungry and suffering from a variety of ailments. The horses were kept in filthy surroundings, with no access to clean food or water. Some of the horses needed immediate medical attention, and Debbie knew that they needed to act fast.

The SPCA team used all of the resources at their disposal to provide medical care to the horses on site. They heavily hydrated one of the horses, which was severely dehydrated, and administered vitamins and medication to help alleviate some of the illnesses affecting the rest of the horses. However, it quickly became clear that the situation was far more complicated than they had first thought.

The team realized that they would need additional help from other rescues and organizations to care for the sick and injured horses. They contacted other animal rescues that have experience in dealing with neglected horses, including a rescue called Forgotten Five Animal Rescue and the Houston Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit.

One of the sick horses, named Pippi, was in such terrible condition that she had to be transported to a nearby veterinary hospital for treatment. Pippi was found with a body condition score of 1, which is considered emaciated. She needed immediate medical attention, including a blood transfusion, to save her life.

As the team worked tirelessly to save the horses, they discovered that the owner of the property was nowhere to be found. They had no idea where she was or how long she had been gone. The situation was dire, and the team was left with no choice but to seize the horses.

The SPCA worked through the night to move all of the horses to a safe location where they could receive the medical attention and care that they desperately needed. They set up an emergency shelter for the horses and continued to treat them for their various illnesses and injuries.

In addition to the horses, the team also found several dogs on the property who were in equally poor condition. They were filthy and had not been properly cared for. The SPCA brought the dogs back to their headquarters where they could receive the medical care and attention that they needed.

Throughout the episode, viewers are shown the dedication and commitment that the SPCA team has to saving these helpless horses. They work tirelessly to provide the animals with the care that they so desperately need, going above and beyond what is required of them to ensure that these animals are given a second chance at life.

As the episode comes to a close, viewers are left with a sense of hope as the horses and dogs begin to slowly recover from their injuries and illnesses. With the support of the SPCA team and other animal rescues, these animals are given a second chance to live healthy, happy lives.

Animal Cops: Houston season 3 episode 7 – Helpless Horses is a heartwarming reminder of the importance of animal rescue and the incredible dedication of those who work in the field. Viewers will be left feeling inspired and moved by the work of the SPCA team and the other rescues that came together to save these helpless horses.
