Animal Cops: Houston is a documentary series that follows the efforts of the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) as they rescue and care for abused or neglected animals. In season 6 episode 6, titled "Cats In Trouble", the focus is on the plight of feral and abandoned cats in the Houston area.

The episode begins with the Animal Cruelty Taskforce receiving a call from a concerned citizen about a hoarding situation in a residential area. When the team arrives at the location, they find a run-down house with dozens of cats living inside and outside. The smell is overpowering, and the cats appear to be starving and sickly. The team sets up traps and begins the process of catching as many cats as they can.

Meanwhile, another team responds to a call about a kitten that has been trapped under a car. The kitten is meowing loudly, and the team is worried that it may be injured or traumatized. Using a special tool, one of the officers is able to free the kitten from under the car and bring it back to the SPCA for evaluation.

Back at the hoarding situation, the team is struggling to catch all the cats. They realize that some of the cats are hiding in the walls and ceiling of the house. To reach them, they have to cut holes in the walls and use a special camera to locate the cats. It's a delicate operation, as the walls are unstable and the team has to be careful not to harm the cats.

As the day wears on, the team is able to catch the majority of the cats from the hoarding situation. They load them into crates and transport them back to the SPCA for medical treatment and evaluation. The cats are malnourished and suffering from a variety of illnesses, including upper respiratory infections and flea infestations.

At the SPCA, the cats are examined by a veterinarian and given the treatment they need. The team works to socialize the cats and prepare them for eventual adoption. Some of the cats are so sick that they have to be kept in isolation to prevent the spread of disease.

In addition to the hoarding situation, the episode also highlights the work of the SPCA in trapping and neutering feral cats. With hundreds of thousands of feral cats living in the Houston area, the SPCA has launched a program to trap, neuter, and release these cats in an effort to control their populations. The team sets up traps in neighborhoods where feral cats are known to live, catching them and bringing them back to the SPCA for neutering and medical treatment.

Throughout the episode, the hardworking and dedicated staff of the Houston SPCA work tirelessly to help cats in need. Whether it's rescuing cats from hoarding situations or working to control the feral cat population, they are committed to improving the lives of animals in the Houston area. Despite the challenges they face, they never lose sight of their mission: to protect and care for animals in need.
