Ep 1. Hard Reset

APB season 1 episode 1, titled "Hard Reset," follows billionaire tech entrepreneur Gideon Reeves as he takes control of the Chicago Police Department's 13th district after his best friend is killed in a robbery. But as the episode progresses, Gideon's methods prove their merit in solving a hostage crisis at a community center in the district, convincing some of the officers of the effectiveness of his ideas.

Meanwhile, Gideon also forms a relationship with the head of the department's tactical unit, Ada Hamilton, who is skeptical of his tactics and intentions. There is an underlying tension between the two that adds to the episode's drama and plot twists.

Overall, the first episode of APB season one – Hard Reset – sets the scene for a show that is heavier on the tech and futuristic concepts than the average cop procedural. It shows the clash and friction of a tech mogul trying to bring a new era of policing to Chicago – an area mired in poverty and crime.
