Ep 10. Episode 10

As Time Goes By follows the journey of rekindled love between two people, Jean and Lionel. Season 1, episode 10 titled Episode 10 begins with Jean and Lionel receiving a surprise visit from Sandy and Harry, Lionel's ex-wife and Jean's best friend, respectively. Sandy and Harry have come all the way from Los Angeles to see Jean and Lionel's new flat. They are surprised to learn that Lionel and Jean share a flat and that they are in love. Harry and Sandy settle in, and, after Jean leaves to buy some food, Harry suggests a game of cards which quickly dissolves into a heated argument about a game of poker Lionel lost in 1959.

The next day, Harry and Sandy head to the airport, and Jean and Lionel return to their daily routines. Jean's daughter, Judith, calls, and Jean reveals her relationship with Lionel to her. Judith is shocked but happy for her mother. Jean and Lionel discuss their future and what their relationship means to each other.

Later, they receive an unexpected visit from Rocky, Lionel's publisher, who has come to discuss the upcoming book launch. Lionel is apprehensive about his upcoming book launch, and Rocky tries to reassure him of its success. The conversation turns to Lionel's and Jean's relationship, and Rocky reveals he had suspicions but didn't say anything.

Jean and Lionel continue to take small steps in their relationship, and Jean introduces Lionel to her sister-in-law, Penny. Lionel is smitten by Penny, and they go out to dinner. When they return, Jean asks Lionel if he has feelings for her sister-in-law, to which Lionel denies.

Meanwhile, Sandy and Harry discover they have lost their luggage and return to Jean and Lionel's flat. They reveal they are divorcing and are at a loss of what to do. Sandy and Harry have a moment of self-reflection and realize they were never happy. They convince Jean and Lionel to go on a weekend trip to Paris. Jean and Lionel comply and finally confess their love for each other in the City of Lights.

Episode 10 explores the complexity of relationships, both past and present. It showcases the difficulties of previous relationships, as seen through Sandy and Harry, and how it can impact future ones. It also portrays the hesitation and doubts when starting a new relationship, as shown through Lionel's insecurities.
