Ep 1. Divorced Dudes

"Bad Teacher" is a sitcom that premiered on CBS in 2014 and was based on the 2011 film of the same name. The show revolved around Meredith Davis (Ari Graynor), a former trophy wife who becomes a teacher at a middle school in order to find her next rich husband.

In the pilot episode, "Divorced Dudes," Meredith finds herself in a bit of a financial bind after her marriage to a wealthy man falls apart. With no money and no prospects, she decides to become a teacher at a middle school in order to find her next sugar daddy.

Things don't exactly start off on the right foot for Meredith when she meets Principal Carl Gaines (David Alan Grier) and realizes that the job is going to be a lot harder than she anticipated. Gaines is not particularly impressed with Meredith's lack of qualifications and tells her that she's going to have to earn her keep if she wants to keep her job.

Undeterred, Meredith sets her sights on a group of recently divorced dads who she believes will be the perfect targets for her seduction. She enlists the help of Ginny (Kristin Davis), a fellow teacher and divorcee, to help her track down the men and set her plan in motion.

Meanwhile, Meredith also has to deal with her fellow teachers, including the overly enthusiastic and clueless Irene (Sara Gilbert) and Joel (Ryan Hansen), a gym teacher who can't seem to keep his shirt on.

As Meredith tries to balance her new job and her search for a new husband, she realizes that maybe teaching isn't so bad after all. She starts to form relationships with her students and begins to see the value in what she's doing.

Overall, "Divorced Dudes" is a solid pilot episode that sets up the premise of the show and introduces us to the main characters. Ari Graynor is great as Meredith, bringing a mix of charm and cynicism to the role. The supporting cast is also strong, particularly David Alan Grier as the no-nonsense principal and Kristin Davis as Meredith's friend and co-conspirator.

While the show may not have broken any new ground, it's a fun, light-hearted comedy that provides plenty of laughs. If you're looking for a show that doesn't take itself too seriously, "Bad Teacher" is definitely worth checking out.
