Ep 2. Daddy Issues

Bad Teacher is an American television sitcom that aired on CBS from April to July 2014. The show was based on the 2011 film of the same name and starred Ari Graynor as the titular bad teacher, Meredith Davis. In season 1 episode 2, titled "Daddy Issues," Meredith continues her quest to find a rich and eligible bachelor to take care of her financial needs so she can quit her teaching job.

Meredith begins to pursue Jack and even goes to his office to introduce herself. Jack is not interested in her advances and tells her to leave, but Meredith refuses to give up. She convinces Charlie to invite Jack to the school's parent-teacher conference, hoping to impress him with her teaching skills.

Before the conference, Meredith meets Jack's ex-wife and Charlie's mother, Tracy. Tracy tells Meredith that Jack only cares about money and that he won't be interested in her unless she has something to offer. This information only motivates Meredith further to impress Jack.

At the conference, Meredith puts on a show and impresses the parents and faculty with her teaching skills. Jack is impressed but still reluctant to pursue a relationship with Meredith. However, Meredith is determined and even goes to Jack's house to confront him. Jack finally relents, and they go on a date.

The episode ends with Meredith and Jack returning to his house after their date. Meredith is pleased with herself for finally landing a rich man to take care of her, but when Jack reveals that he has a daughter, Meredith becomes disinterested, as she does not want to deal with the responsibility of being a stepmother.

Overall, "Daddy Issues" showcases Meredith's desperation for financial stability and her willingness to manipulate those around her to achieve her goals. The episode also highlights the theme of responsibility and the consequences of one's actions, as Meredith realizes that dating a man with a child comes with a certain level of responsibility that she is not willing to accept.
