BEATLESS is a science-fiction anime television series that aired in 2018. The show is set in the future and follows the story of a sixteen-year-old boy named Arato Endo who acquires an artificial intelligent humanoid robot named Lacia. The series explores the relationship between humans and robots, as well as the impact advanced technology has on society.

The show takes place in a world where the line between humans and robots is blurred. Advanced technological advancements have led to the creation of artificial intelligent robots that are more like humans than ever before. These robots, known as hIE's (humanoid interface elements), can perform tasks ranging from house cleaning to serving as personal assistants. The hIE's have become an essential part of society, and humans rely heavily on them for everyday tasks.

However, despite their advanced capabilities, hIE's lack true emotions and empathy. This is where Lacia comes in. Lacia, a highly advanced hIE, is equipped with an experimental operating system that grants her true consciousness and emotions. Lacia is not like other hIE's
