In Berserk season 1 episode 12, titled Two People, the story continues to follow the journey of Guts, a skilled warrior seeking revenge against his former friend Griffith, who has become a powerful and ruthless ruler. The episode begins with Guts and his companions, including the young wizard Schierke, arriving at the witch's mansion that Schierke has called home for years.
As they enter the mansion, they are greeted by the witch, Flora, who is initially wary of Guts due to his status as a branded sacrifice. However, Schierke vouches for him, and Flora welcomes them all inside. Flora then proceeds to teach Schierke and Guts about astral bodies, creatures that inhabit the spiritual realm and can possess humans.
Guts and Schierke then leave to hunt for astral creatures, while Flora remains behind to create a barrier against evil spirits. While they are out, Guts reflects on his past and his burning desire for revenge against Griffith. Schierke then uses her magic to transport them to another dimension, where they encounter a massive tree that is infested with evil spirits.
As they fight off the spirits, Guts is suddenly contacted by Griffith through a telepathic message, in which Griffith speaks to Guts and offers him a place in his army once again. Guts angrily rejects the offer, and the two exchange heated words, with Griffith revealing that he orchestrated the events that led to Guts becoming a branded sacrifice.
The episode then shifts back to Flora's mansion, where Schierke has fallen asleep after a long day of training. Flora observes her sleeping and reflects on her own past, including her relationship with her former apprentice, an evil sorcerer named Gedfring.
The episode ends with a mysterious figure appearing outside Flora's mansion, with his eyes fixed on Guts and his companions inside.
Overall, Berserk season 1 episode 12 offers plenty of action and drama, as well as further character development for Guts and his companions. The introduction of Flora and her knowledge of astral bodies adds an intriguing new element to the show, and the telepathic conversation between Guts and Griffith sets up further conflict between the two characters.
