In season 1, episode 11 of Between Two Ferns, comedian Zach Galifianakis interviews action movie star Bruce Willis. As with all episodes of the show, the interview takes place on a set featuring two fern plants and Galifianakis asks a series of absurd and often uncomfortable questions.
The episode begins with Galifianakis introducing Willis, who looks unimpressed and slightly uncomfortable. Galifianakis starts off by asking Willis about his experiences with baldness, and the two go on to discuss Willis' movies and his reputation as a tough guy.
Galifianakis repeatedly interrupts Willis, making jokes at his expense and appearing to enjoy the actor's discomfort. He asks Willis about his recent movies, including A Good Day to Die Hard, and proceeds to mock the film's title in typical Galifianakis fashion.
Throughout the interview, Galifianakis also makes a number of bizarre comments and requests. He asks Willis to show him his hand, saying that he "makes a lot of money" by reading palms. He then turns to the audience and says that he's "gonna predict something", before announcing that Willis will "make another Die Hard movie."
At one point, Galifianakis brings up the topic of ghosts, asking Willis if he believes in them. When Willis says no, Galifianakis appears surprised and asks if he's ever seen a ghost. The conversation quickly devolves into absurdity, with Galifianakis claiming that he saw a ghost in the studio earlier and offering Willis a chance to search for it with him.
As the interview continues, Galifianakis becomes increasingly erratic, making bizarre statements and breaking into song at random intervals. Willis, for his part, remains relatively stone-faced throughout, though he occasionally responds with dry wit when Galifianakis' questions demand it.
In one particularly memorable moment, Galifianakis asks Willis if he's ever played the harmonica. When Willis responds that he has, Galifianakis hands him a tiny harmonica and asks him to play it. Willis obliges, and the resulting music is a bizarre, off-key jingle that only adds to the surreal atmosphere of the interview.
Throughout the episode, the tension between Galifianakis and Willis is thick, with Willis seemingly growing more and more annoyed with each passing moment. Despite this, he continues to endure Galifianakis' antics, answering his questions and indulging his strange requests with surprising patience.
As the interview finally comes to a close, Galifianakis thanks Willis for his time and expresses his admiration for the actor's work. Willis, visibly relieved, gives a small smile and shakes Galifianakis' hand before exiting the set. The episode ends soon afterward, with Galifianakis turning to the camera and saying "That was Bruce Willis. I'm Zach Galifianakis, and this has been 'Between Two Ferns.'"
