Ep 2. Dead Cat Bounce

As Chuck Rhoades continues his investigation into Bobby Axelrod's financial dealings, Bobby faces his own crises in the second episode of the second season of Billions, "Dead Cat Bounce."

The episode opens with a scene showing one of Bobby's traders, Mafee, engaging in some insider trading with other members of the team. As the scene plays out, it becomes clear that Mafee has information about future deals that hasn't yet been made public, and that the team is using this information to make trades that are guaranteed to pay off.

But Chuck isn't convinced that Bryan's instincts are on target, and he's hesitant to trust him with too much information.

Back at Axe Capital, Bobby is grappling with an unexpected crisis. In the wake of his failed IPO, the fund has been hemorrhaging cash, and most of his clients are pulling their money out. Bobby needs to find a way to keep his head above water, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.

One of Bobby's oldest friends, a wealthy oil tycoon named Steven Birch, reaches out to him for help. Birch is facing a hostile takeover of his own company, and he wants Bobby to ride to the rescue by buying up a massive amount of his company's stock. Bobby realizes that this could be the lifeline he needs to save his fund, but he also knows that it's a risky move that could backfire badly.

As the episode progresses, tensions rise between Chuck and Bryan, Bobby and Steven, and Mafee and his fellow traders. The stakes are higher than ever, and each character is forced to make some tough decisions.

Without giving too much away, "Dead Cat Bounce" is another thrilling episode of one of the most clever and complex shows on TV today.
