- March 16, 2015
As the title suggests, things are a little off-kilter in season 3 episode 8 of Black Ink Crew: New York, titled Movin' Funny. The episode opens with a meeting between Ceaser and his team, discussing the recent firing of staffer Alex. Ceaser expresses his disappointment that Alex turned his back on them, and accuses him of trying to go behind his back to start his own shop. Despite the fact that Alex denies these allegations, Ceaser stands firm in his decision to let him go, leaving the rest of the staff feeling uneasy about their own job security.
Meanwhile, Donna is struggling with her own personal issues after learning that her boyfriend Mo has been cheating on her. She confides in her fellow staffer Ted and tells him she's considering moving out and ending things with Mo once and for all. Ted sympathizes with her and offers his support, reminding Donna that she's a strong, independent woman who doesn't need a man to be happy.
In an effort to take her mind off her problems, Donna joins the rest of the crew at a photo shoot for the shop's new clothing line. However, tensions soon rise when Ceaser and Sky get into a heated argument over their respective roles in the shoot. Sky accuses Ceaser of trying to take credit for her ideas, and Ceaser accuses Sky of being ungrateful for all he's done for her. The argument quickly spirals out of control, with both parties exchanging heated words and threats to quit the show altogether.
As if that weren't enough drama for one episode, things take a turn for the worse when Donna's apartment building catches fire. In a panic, she calls the shop for help, and the rest of the staff rushes to her aid. Despite the chaos of the situation, the crew manages to pull together and help Donna salvage what she can from her apartment. In the aftermath of the fire, Donna reflects on the importance of having a support system and realizes that her fellow Black Ink Crew members truly are like family to her.
