Ep 4. Predators

As the fourth episode of the first season of the show Bless This Mess titled Predators begins, we find Mike and Rio trying their hands at developing their own unique independent farming techniques. However, their efforts fail to produce the expected yields, and they end up facing a pest problem.

Concerned over the loss that he is going to incur, Mike discovers that their side business partner Rudy might be responsible for the pest infestation. Things get complicated for them when Rudy skips town leaving behind all of his stuff to be auctioned off, and Mike is left to handle the sudden death of his truck that he’d paid off.

Meanwhile, Rio tries to confront her fear of living in a barn house. The farmhouse’s rustic appearance and unfamiliar noises keep her awake all night. As she tries unsuccessfully to make herself comfortable in her new surroundings, she starts believing that there might be something else bothering her.

While Mike runs in circles trying to figure out a way to get rid of the pests and pays a visit to the local exterminator to get rid of the rodents, he realizes that he must pay for the exterminator's services in person and not through an insurance. This realization increases his stress levels to the limit.

Things take a turn for the worse when a group of bikers come to the auction, and Mike has no choice but to join them. The auctioneer puts up Rudy's possessions for sale, and one of the bidders ends up getting them all. Mike manages to keep his cool, despite the drama that unfolds during the auction.

Meanwhile, Rio meets her new friends at the senior citizen center, who help her with the strange noises in the barn. They take her around the farmhouse and teach her different tricks to keep her surroundings clean. Rio learns plenty from them. She tries to apply their tricks and finally makes some headway toward feeling comfortable in her new surroundings.

On the other hand, Mike faces a breakdown of communication with Rio and decides to take matters into his own hands. He ultimately concocts a new farming technique that gets them the yields that they need, saving the business from disaster.

As the episode comes to a close, Mike and Rio come to realize that they are more capable of dealing with the challenges of running a farm than they thought. Their partnership and teamwork will be tested, but through their resilience and hard work, they will be able to overcome any issues that come their way.
