Ep 5. Hunted

Ryan Atwell, a rookie police officer, responds to a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex. When he arrives, he finds a man wielding a knife and demanding that Atwell leave. Three other officers arrive on the scene, and they manage to subdue the man without incident. Atwell's body camera captures the entire encounter, including the suspect's attempts to stab Atwell.

Later that night, Atwell is on patrol when he receives a call about a carjacking. He responds to the scene and discovers that the car's owner was shot and killed. The suspects flee in the stolen car, and Atwell pursues them. The chase leads Atwell and his partner into a remote wooded area, where they find the abandoned car. Atwell's partner leaves to search for the suspects while Atwell stays behind to guard the car.

As Atwell waits, he starts to feel like he's being watched. Suddenly, he hears footsteps in the woods and realizes he's being hunted. With no backup and no clear idea of who is after him, Atwell must rely on his training and instincts to survive. His body camera captures the entire harrowing ordeal, from the moment he realizes he is being hunted to the desperate struggle to stay alive.

Throughout the episode, other officers recount their own encounters with danger and how their body cameras helped them in the line of duty. From high-speed chases to hostage situations, the cameras provide a critical record of events that can be used to help investigators and protect officers from false accusations.

As Atwell's ordeal comes to an end, he reflects on the importance of the body camera in modern policing. "I never thought I'd need it," he says, "but I'm glad I had it."
