From the show Boundless comes the exhilarating episode Mexico: Born to Run. In this episode, the Boundless team heads to the highlands of Mexico to immerse themselves in the world of ultramarathon-style running.

The episode kicks off with Simon Donato and Paul "Turbo" Trebilcock exploring the town of Urique, which is nestled deep in the Copper Canyon region. Known as one of the most coveted ultramarathon destinations in the world, the Copper Canyon attracts some of the best runners from around the globe.

The teams meet with Sergio Sanchez, a local ultra runner who has won the Copper Canyon Ultramarathon twice. Sergio takes them on a beautiful and exhausting five-hour run through the mountainous terrain. The team packs up for a two-day drive from Mexico City to the interior of Chihuahua, where they will spend the next couple of days training and preparing for the ultra trail running race.

When they arrive, they are greeted by a group of local Tarahumara runners. The Tarahumara are an indigenous group of people who have lived in the Copper Canyon region for thousands of years. They are renowned for their ability to run long distances, and their form of ultra running has been popularized by Christopher McDougall's book, Born to Run.

The Boundless team spends time with the Tarahumara runners, learning their techniques and ways of life. They quickly realize that the Tarahumara people's deep connection to the land and years of experience running on rugged terrain give them an edge over many of the world's top ultra runners.

The next day, the team wakes up early and drives to the start of the 50-kilometer ultra trail race, which is taking place deep in the heart of the Copper Canyon. The race is grueling, taking participants up and down steep trails, crossing icy streams and overcoming heat stroke-inducing temperatures as they battle it out for glory.

In a race with such unpredictable conditions, anything can happen. However, the team's training and preparation pay off, with Simon, Paul and the rest of the team bringing out their best efforts to remain competitive in the race. Fans of the show bond with the runners as they navigate their journey, struggling and persevering through miles and miles of wild terrain.

Mexico: Born to Run showcases the incredible beauty and challenge of ultramarathon trail running, set against the alluring backdrop of Mexico's Copper Canyon. It's a testament to human endurance, and a celebration of the unspoiled wilderness that draws ultra runners from around the world.
