In episode 2 of Brew Dogs season 3, James Watt and Martin Dickie head to the heart of Brooklyn, New York, to explore the diverse brewing scene in the borough. From traditional German lagers to cutting-edge craft beers, Brooklyn has it all, and the Brew Dogs are determined to brew something that captures the essence of this vibrant and diverse community.

Their first stop is at Transmitter Brewing, a small operation that specializes in Belgian-style farmhouse ales. Here, James and Martin learn about the history of the style, which originated in the French-speaking region of Belgium, and get a taste of the unique flavors and aromas that define these beers. They also meet with the brewer to discuss techniques for brewing a perfect farmhouse ale, including the use of special yeasts and the importance of proper temperature control.

Next, the Brew Dogs visit Other Half Brewing Company, which has quickly become one of the most talked-about breweries in the city. Here, they taste some of the incredible IPAs and stouts that have made Other Half famous, and meet with the founders to discuss the inspiration behind their beers. They also get a lesson in hop varieties and talk about how to balance bitter flavors with subtle aromas and fruity notes.

On their way to their next stop, James and Martin take a detour to visit a local distillery, where they learn about the process of making gin and sample some of the small-batch spirits that are becoming increasingly popular in the area. The distiller also gives them some ideas for incorporating botanicals and other flavors into their own brews, using the same techniques that are used in making gin.

Their final destination is Brooklyn Brewery, one of the oldest and most respected craft breweries in the city. Here, they meet with head brewer Garrett Oliver, who has been brewing some of the most iconic beers in the country for more than 20 years. Garrett takes them on a tour of the facilities, including the barrel aging room and the specialized labs where they experiment with new recipes and techniques.

After spending the day exploring the diverse and exciting world of Brooklyn beer, the Brew Dogs return to their own brewery to put together their own unique brew. Using the techniques and ingredients they've learned about on their travels, they set out to create a beer that captures the essence of Brooklyn's vibrant beer scene and the people who make it great.

Overall, this episode of Brew Dogs is a celebration of the creativity, passion, and innovation that define the craft beer industry in Brooklyn and beyond. From traditional brewing techniques to cutting-edge experimentation, the Brew Dogs explore the full spectrum of what's possible in the world of beer, and come away with new ideas and inspirations for their own brewing projects.
