The Devils Ride is a new show about the world of motorcycle clubs. It debuted on the Discovery Channel on May 8, 2012. It chronicles the San Diego based Laffing Devils and their members as they carry out meetings and tasks throughout the city. The Laffing Devils was created by Gipsy, an ex-Marine who started the club upon returning from a tour of duty in Iraq. The show profiles prospective members who are hoping to gain membership and the things they must do to prove their worth to be accepted, or "patched in." The Laffing Devils are made up of a close knit group of members who are as diverse in their jobs as they are alike in their interests. Members range from business owners and motorcycle builders to financial gurus. The show focuses on the home base of the Laffing Devils, which is an auto body shop in San Diego owned by a fellow member. Police have been putting pressure on the club to move, which has sparked some disagreement between members. Gipsy, the founding father, has chosen to abdicate his role of president and pass the torch on to another member. The election that follows causes a rift between two sides - one group who wishes to see an older and established member elected, and another who wants a younger and newer member in the position. The Devils Ride gives viewers an inside look at private motorcycle clubs and some of the conflicts and challenges they face as a group.
