Broad City Season 2 Episode 9 Coat Check

Abbi and Ilana are at a fancy art gallery event, where Abbi has a job checking coats. Meanwhile, Ilana is supposed to be working, but instead is sneaking into the VIP area and trying to score some free food and drinks. Abbi is struggling with her coat check job, as her boss is strict and she is worried about losing her coat-checking privileges if she messes up.

While Abbi is working, she meets a handsome guy named Jeremy who is checking his coat. They hit it off and end up making out in a coat closet. However, when they come out of the closet, they realize that they have accidentally taken the coats of two important art critics. Meanwhile, Ilana has successfully made it into the VIP area and is living it up with free food and drinks. She even manages to sneak into a private bathroom and accidentally ends up at a fancy cocktail party upstairs. Ilana is having a great time until she sees her ex-boyfriend, who she had a bad breakup with. Ilana tries to avoid him, but he ends up finding her and they have an awkward conversation.

Back downstairs, Abbi is frantically trying to figure out how to get the coats back. She enlists the help of Jeremy, who comes up with a plan to switch the coats without getting caught. They successfully switch the coats, but when Abbi tries to give the coats back to their owners, she realizes that they are both drunk and don't even remember what their coats look like. Abbi has a mini breakdown, but Jeremy helps her calm down and they end up hanging out for the rest of the night.

Ilana and her ex-boyfriend continue to have awkward conversations and they end up getting into a fight. Ilana storms off and ends up back in the coat room, where she runs into Abbi and Jeremy. Ilana introduces herself to Jeremy and they hit it off, but Abbi is clearly jealous. Jeremy and Ilana head off to have some more fun, leaving Abbi alone with her coat check duties.
